Oblique Imagery

In winter of 2007 we acquired 5" resolution Oblique Imagery for the Urban Areas in the County in partnership with the GeoPlan Center at the University of Florida. This Oblique Imagery for the Urban Areas as it interfaces with our GIS datasets is available in all five of our Map Viewers as described below.

Oblique Imagery for the entire Alachua County is available at the Microsoft's hosted application http://maps.live.com. One can search by address or place name. Oblique Imagery for the entire county as it interfaces with real estate searches and with Google's Street View is also available at: http://www.zillow.com.

1. GeoGM Mapper
This online mapper which serves our geolibrary of 90+ layers, uses an Oblique Imagery tool to allow the user to click a location on the map and see its corresponding oblique imagery in a popup window. Read the online documentation on how to use this tool.

2. GeoPT Mapper
This online mapper which maps dynamically building permits by parcel back to 1979, uses the Oblique Imagery tool in the same way as the GeoGM Mapper. Read the online documentation on how to use this tool.

3. GeoCE Mapper
This Geographic Code Enforcement tracker which provides for view, query, and download of code violations back to 1994, uses the Oblique Imagery tool in the same way as the other two Mappers. Read the online documentation on how to use this tool.

4. GeoDR Mapper
You can track approved developments here. As developements are approved, they are displayed as points hyperlinked to their Approved Site File. GeoDR uses the Oblique Imagery tool in the same way as the other three Mappers. Read the online documentation on how to use this tool.

5. GeoGreen Mapper
A Green Map for Alachua County which provides access to 40+ layers on green infrastructure and green living. GeoGreen, uses the Oblique Imagery tool in the same way as the other four Mappers. Read the online documentation on how to use this tool.

Note: The oblique tool in these viewers, the first time you use it, requires Internet Explorer and the installation of two ActiveX controls .

6. Electronic Field Study (EFS)
EFS is free for County, City, and University of Florida employees. This desktop software connects to the Oblique Imagery in our Growth Management server and downloads the imagery to your computer. 7. ArcGIS Extension
This extension is free for County, City, and University of Florida employees. This extension provides an interface from your ArcGIS to the Oblique Imagery located in our Growth Management's server. If interested in this software contact Juna Papajorgji at: jpapajorgji@alachuacounty.us.
